Jahnavi Nair Accounting and Finance BSc - Bahrain
Jahvani, from Bahrain, is one of our Unibuddy ambassadors who will help you with questions about the Accounting and Finance BSc at Bangor.

Why did you choose ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï?
There were actually a few things that drew me to Bangor. Firstly, the Accounting and Finance programme here is really well-respected. I was searching for a programme that would give me a strong foundation in both accounting and finance, and ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ïseemed like a perfect fit.
But it wasn't just academics that drew me in. The location is simply stunning! Being surrounded by Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park is a dream come true for someone who loves the outdoors like me.
Finally, the sense of community at ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ïreally appealed to me. As an international student from Bahrain, I wanted a place where I'd feel welcome and supported. ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ïhas a large international population, and I know there are plenty of resources available to help me adjust to life in the UK.
What's been the coolest part of your course so far?

Emphasis on Practical Learning: A portion of ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ï's degree programmes include job experiences. This is a great method to supplement your academic studies with practical experience, which will increase your employability.
Any advice for A-level students worrying about their results?
Back in the day, I remember how stressful but how keen I was to know my results. These are the few steps I learnt to take to calm my nerves.
Be ready for diverse results; look into Clearing; investigate the Clearing system while you hold out hope. This enables you to locate classes with spots open following results day. It can be comforting to have a backup plan. Think about other options: consider alternative choices like as gap years, apprenticeships, or foundation years. There's less pressure when you know what options you have.
Self-care: eat well, sleep well, and exercise frequently. Stress is better absorbed by a body and mind in good health. To de-stress, try mindfulness activities, meditation, or deep breathing. Engage in stress-relieving activities, hobbies, or quality time with loved ones.
Keep in mind that there are always possibilities, regardless of the result. It's not the end point of your journey; it's only one step. Take pride in all the effort you have already put in. You've come a long way! If you're feeling stressed out, talk to your loved ones, friends, or a school counsellor. Organise your results day - regardless of the outcome, choose who you'll be with and what you'll do next. Be aware of the method of getting your results — online or in person —and keep your school's or UCAS's contact information close to hand.
