Career Opportunities

Dental Hygienists and Therapists provide an essential service across a wide range of dental care settings. As a graduate, you’ll be prepared to work in general practice, community dental services, and other clinical environments as a key member of the wider dental team. You’ll manage your own patients, deliver preventive and therapeutic care, and play an increasing role in NHS dental service delivery in Wales as demand for skilled oral health professionals grows.

Your qualification also opens the door to diverse pathways. Dental care professionals contribute in teaching hospitals, dental schools, the armed forces, prisons, and residential care facilities. Many go on to pursue advanced roles through continued professional development, becoming dental educators, regulators, or academics.

Studying Dental Hygiene & Therapy at ÌìÌì³Ô¹Ïis also a platform for progression. For those who wish to advance further, we offer the only course in Wales – and one of just two in the UK – that provides a one-year top-up route from Dental Hygiene to Dental Therapy, supporting lifelong learning and career development within the profession.
